Research Interests
My research interests focus on the theoretical and experimental investigations on materials co-doped with lanthanide ions with emphasis on their structural and optical properties as well as on their modeling by numerical methods. Especially interested in new or fascinating processes, that take place in these materials, and in their possible applications. Last research activity refers to downconversion and quantum cutting phenomena in fluoride nanoparticles.
Skills
Physical characterization of the material through X-ray diffraction, optical spectroscopy methods including: absorption, emission excitation and emission spectra measurements in UV, Vis and NIR range and their power dependency
Synthesis of fluorides and disilicates doped with lanthanides ions by hydrothermal and sol-gel methods
Experienced in the use of OriginPro, X’pert Highscore Plus , LaTeX editor and other linked software in daily use
Basics in C++ programming
